Maureen Henesey began her formal vocal training as a member of the Syracuse Children’s Chorus. That experience instilled in her a passion and love for music. Maureen’s first official rock and roll gig was an impromptu tune at a Coleman’s Block Party with the band Soulmates back in 2000. She went on to perform with the group for two years.
For 11 years, she was a full-time member of the local rock group, The Mere Mortals. She has since transitioned into a guest musician spot with the busy band. Maureen continues to perform with the local folk/bluegrass group, The Easy Ramblers. The Easy Ramblers won a Syracuse Area Music Award (SAMMY) for their original release “Easy Does It” in 2011 and were nominated for Best Country Album with their most recent album “Country Livin’” in 2013. Maureen has worked as a session singer for local and regional musicians and groups. Her day job is as an Occupational Therapist for the Marcellus School District and Crouse Hospital. Maureen Henesey lives in Syracuse with her supportive husband Michael and their three crazy, sweet, music-loving children-Luke, Matthew and Alice.
