Peg Newell’s parents bought her an electric guitar for her 13th birthday, thinking that it might just be a passing fad. Soon after receiving that gift, she began playing in bands, writing and recording music. The “fad” has never passed, and now, over 25 years later, Peg is still an active member of the Syracuse music community.
Over the course of her career, she has worked with record producers Danny Lawson and Jim Steinman. She has also garnered two Syracuse Area Music Award Nominations for her original music and one win for her work on Kim Monroe’s first album. She has performed, written and recorded music with Krystal Image, Mrs. Smith, Your Fantastic Summer, The Phil Broikos Quartet, Kim Monroe and The Reissues. Peg has also been a perennial performer at The Taste of Syracuse and The Great New York State Fair. She is ecstatic to be included in this year’s lineup for Ladies Night!
